Miranda Divine is correct in her critique of the Ben Cousins story. The expose is a
tawdry romp through Ben's self absorbed life. His child like naiveté and lack of
remorse are palpable. Far from dissuading drug use this program glamourised his self
indulgent lifestyle. His justification for his bad behaviour do little to reclaim his
battered reputation. AS for the claim by Seven that this was a pivotal program in drug
education for the country, nothing could be further from the truth.
